Original was better. Also, God of War had better designs for all the Gods. Qai-Gon Jinn is not FUCKING ZEUS. Should have atleast given him a massive white beard.

Story just felt so rushed compared to the original. No real introductions to new people, certain parts of the film dragged while other scenes like the Witches they brushed over in 2 minutes.

I still remember the original Clash of the Titans with Medusa.



I fucking shat myself watching this bit as a kid. There was not a single kid in the cinema crying. First thing, they made Medusa good looking...well, as much as a snake headed condemned bint of the Gods can be.

No tension at all during this battle on the new one. They went in a cave, someone got shot, they all scrambled and they died. I knew I couldn't remember in the original actual characters you gave a shit about that followed Perseus into the cave. Even with the time spent developing the little band of fools that went in, didn't give a fucking shit that they died.

There was more of a chase scene in the new version, with the good looking Medusa slithered down and over various pillars and gaps to chase after our bald bad ass convict fisherman...Perseus. Span around in full sight of Medusa and did a lariat with his sword with his eyes closed. Dead. RUBBISH.

Should've hid in the shadows, breathing heavily, shitting yourself as you should do. It's fucking Medusa!

I also watched it in 3D. What a waste of money. Best thing I saw in 3D throughout the whole showing was the Sky Sports advert. THE BALL CAME OFF THE CROSS BAR AND OUT OF THE SCREEN! In Clash of the Titans? Some fonts looked a bit outey and the side of a boat looked good.

Still worth a watch...on Orange Wednesdays or something. Split the cost with someone and it will kill 1hr 50 minutes or so of your life. You will then spend the rest of the journey moaning how Plastacine > CGI.

I love the old Ray Harryhausen stuff

Can't say I expected much of this remake, what with the atypical orange and blue movie poster, as is tradition and the RAWK soundtrack. Plus they show everything in the trailor: Kraken, Medusa, Scoprions, the whole shebang. Bleh.

This was post production 3d so was really halfarsed compared with Avatar's true 3d from the outset arrangement.

If film companies continue to use weak ass 3d effects I can see the public wising up and just not going to see 3d films/buying 3d sets. This could really bite the industry in the arse something major and I kinda want to see it happen, it'd force them to concentrate on making decent films instead of just relying on gimmicks.

Strong agree. This is why Star wars remade in 3d will be bad. It has to be done right from the start.

My fiance and me have discussed this a number of times - this movie would have been so much better with Jason Statham in the lead role.

The original movie isn't really that great, but it's got a certain charm about it. Also the mooks that go with Peresus got more screentime and actual personality in the original too.
