Im genuinely amazed that there are no Pixelbite games on Switch yet. I want proper big screen marshals that I can take with me!

Thanks Randy - Ill still be posting bits and pieces in the Discord. Once I finish flipping out about Cold Steel 3 of course - Im up to the last dungeon and it might well be my favourite JRPG ever. I can also stream more if people are interested; if nothing else therell be the archives. Always happy to answer questions too, Demon Gaze 2 came up over the weekend.

I think I have Shadowman on my PSN list - Ill try and send a message. A new Yakuza game is out soon, after all.

If we could even upload an archive or something across to a free board that might be useful.

Ive tried setting up a GHZUK server on discord - try this link: https://discord.gg/FaZgyX

My mobile provider is super shaky at work but worth a shot I think.

Ill have a poke around on Discord and see whats cracking. Ive made an account - uiruki#8549 if anyone wants to add me. The web page doesnt seem to work well on an iPhone though so Ill have a look at the server thing when I get home. Does it require hosting or anything? Ive got a NAS box with a mostly idle CPU so that wouldnt be any bother.

Nearing the end of Chapter 3 at a little under 70 hours. Just coming up to the part you play in the prologue, I think. Don't be fooled by the chapter numbers; each one is more like three or four mini-chapters, each with their own climax points, all based around one area in the Empire with one or two towns in top of the multiple fields. I've got two and a half weeks left to complete this before I head away on holiday and it's going to be quite a run, I think! Stuff just keeps on happening and it's hard to plan around; I feel like I need to put a few hours aside to really get into it because of all the 10-20 minute cutscenes introducing and reintroducing stuff. It's always been a dense series but this one feels even more so because of all the threads it's bringing together.

My concerns about character strength in battle following the level reset are out of the window now; I've been able to have a lot of fun with Rean going full CP generation and just laying out huge Crafts and going into his special mode all the time, even though the level number is still in the low 40s. Evasion's a lot of fun thanks to the Master Quartz that massively increases counter damage, and the new Orders make things like battle prep with buff Arts a lot simpler. I'm still finding attack Arts underpowered though - a bit of a theme for the Sen series unfortunately. Nothing yet like Sora's White Gehenna or basically any spell that Tio casts in Zero/Ao.

I think that's probably fair enough; it's definitely been slowing more and more and I think that people's interests have diverged enough that those who remain don't really have too much to talk about at once. I know I've got an issue in that I play a lot of Japanese stuff in the original language so I can't bring too much to conversations on other stuff and I'm sure it's hard for non-speakers to contribute.

How long have we got? I'd like to collect at least my own thoughts about stuff from this year, and it'd be nice to make sure we all know where we all are.

I'll still be mostly posting on Eurogamer and a bit on SA; if anyone has any Discord channels or similar they're on I'm happy to install things. I still remember the IRC days fondly!

Big shame this one. I guess its further proof that even a big name cant guarantee a minimum number of sales and that theres the potential for as big a gap between game quality and popularity as there has ever been.

48) Fire Emblem Musou - Switch - 4/5

Most polished and fun Musou game I've played in years. Story doesn't hang around too long, lots of stuff to do in history mode, runs great docked. Only real issues are probably that often enemy commanders have a lot of HP and there are too many sword-wielding Lords.

47) Steamworld Dig 2 - Switch - 4/5

Ends a bit abruptly, but great until that point. Perfect fit for the Switch.

In that case it might be worth playing Zero first as there's a story which leads into Kiwami 2 from that. Not sure how long it'll be but it will probably be worth the effort. And Zero is probably the best in the series so far, too.
